Steve Hogan and Payton Garofalo achieved an award exceeding $520,000 for back rent and attorneys’ fees for clients, after successfully trying and obtaining an interlocutory judgment on a partition of commercial real estate and the the appointment of a receiver to sell the subject property. The real estate matter involved a Los Angeles Westside property with 110 tenants-in-common, of which the firm’s clients owned an 11.25% undivided tenant-in-common interest. The court awarded the clients 100% of back rent from January 1, 2007 to present, an amount in excess of $230,000, and 100% of attorneys’ fees requested. Defendants were held responsible to pay 88.75% of attorneys’ fees – an amount in excess of $290,000.
