Governor Jerry Brown signs law co-authored by Troy L. Martin

On July 14, 2015, Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 1085 into law. This law makes clear that judges in conservatorship matters can issue orders enforcing a conservatee’s right to visit with his or her children. Troy L. Martin drafted the original proposal for this law, and worked with Kasem Cares and Assemblyman Mike Gatto to redraft the language in order to obtain approval of the bill. The bill passed unanimously through both the California Assembly and Senate earlier in the year.
